CDMRP Melanoma Research Program: Focused Program Award – Rare Melanomas

Focused Program Award – Rare Melanomas applications must describe a unifying, overarching question that will be investigated by a set of research projects that address a critical unmet need relevant to rare melanoma research and/or patient care.

Applications should include multiple (2-3), distinct research projects that are each led by individual Project Leaders and address complementary aspects of the overarching question.

MRP is particularly interested in receiving applications that address other uncommon presentations of melanoma, including but not limited to:

• Genetic (molecular subtypes).

• Histologic (desmoplastic and acral lentiginous).

• Tissue of origin (mucosal, acral).

• Clinical presentation (pediatric, leptomeningeal disease).

Applicants must demonstrate that their research is relevant to the health care needs of Service Members, Veterans, and/or their Families. This can be done via use of military or Veteran populations, biospecimens, data, databases, or programs in the proposed research; cooperation with DoW  investigators and other federal agencies (highly encouraged); explanation of how the project addresses an aspect of melanoma that has relevance or is unique to Service Members, Veterans, and/or their Families.

It is expected that 2 award will be granted.
