תיאור

DARPA is soliciting innovative approaches to develop a biological, converged Sense-Compute-Action system, capable of using odorant detection information to control drone navigation tasks.

TA1 (Architecture) will develop advanced BPU systems with the capacity to learn more complex functions and retain memory as compared to state-of-the-art neural cultures (e.g., organoid-based systems).

TA2 (Action) will integrate a BPU, a biological odorant sensor array, and drone-based navigation into a Sense-Compute-Action system that will detect operationally relevant odorants (e.g., explosives precursors, chemical agent surrogates, industrial chemicals) and issue navigation commands in response to these olfactory array inputs.
