Research Grants on alcohol and substance use disorders (ASUD)

The goal of PASA is to fund research for developing new medications that can improve treatment outcomes for alcohol and substance use disorders (ASUD); particularly but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health conditions.

RFA 8a/Planning Award

• Small-cost and short-duration planning award concerning a specific compound or combination of compounds; to determine the clinical development plan
• Funding: $150,000 total 
• Duration: 9-12 months

RFA 8b/Pre-Clinical

• Full study implementation awards for proof-of-principle pre-clinical animal research to determine which compounds are most appropriate for human research trials. 
• Funding: $600,000 total 
• Duration: 18 months

RFA 8c/Drug Discovery

• Full study implementation awards for proof-of-principle drug discovery research to identify a pool of compounds most appropriate for additional research. 
• Funding: $600,000 total 
• Duration: 2 years
