BD² (Breakthrough Discoveries for thriving with Bipolar Disorder Discovery) Discovery Grants Request for Applications Cycle 4

This RFA seeks to develop targeted and innovative research proposals that will examine the genetic, molecular, cellular, circuit, or behavioral mechanisms of bipolar disorder. 

Topics for this call include: 

• Cellular and molecular mechanisms of mood-state switching;

• Biological mechanisms by which manic or depressive episodes are induced by external risk factors, such as pregnancy, childbirth, substance use, or seasonal changes;

• Using experimental pharmacology to test causality of a molecular or circuit-level mechanism underlying mood-state switching.

Teams of 3-5 multidisciplinary scientists are invited to submit proposals. 

Funding: $1,500,000 per year for all partners

Duration: 3 years
