CDMRP Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program: Career Development Award

PRCRP will foster the next generation of cancer research by providing new opportunities to successfully pursue high-impact research for the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. 

Scholar Option: Supports an independent, highly accomplished early-career investigator (referred to as a Scholar) to conduct impactful research under the guidance of an experienced cancer researcher (i.e., Career Guide). 

Scholar must be an independent investigator at or above the level of Assistant Professor or Instructor (or equivalent) and be on a tenure track, within seven years after completion of their terminal degree by the time of the application submission deadline.

Applications must address at least one of the Topic Areas listed below:
 

Applications must also address at least one of the FY24 PRCRP Military Relevance Focus Areas:

• Environmental/exposure risk factors associated with cancer
• Gaps in cancer research that may affect mission readiness

Investigators are strongly encouraged to collaborate, integrate, and/or align their research projects with Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) research laboratories and programs.​

It is expected that nine (9) Scholar awards will be granted.
