This call seeks basic research projects that rethink existing concepts, explore uncharted paths, and address fundamental mechanisms of dementia-causing neurodegeneration.

High-risk, high-gain research with the potential to reshape current perspectives on neurodegeneration – even if there is a risk of failure

Interdisciplinary projects that integrate expertise from diverse scientific fields

Innovative methodological approaches that offer new insights into disease mechanisms

• PI must be from a German Institution
• 2-5 Partners
• International applicants are allowed, but majority of team should be German

Funding: up to €2,000,000 total
