Novel Therapeutics Directed to Intracellular HIV Targets (R21)

The purpose of this grant is to support the development of novel therapeutics which are directed to intracellular HIV targets. During the HIV life cycle multiple viral associated proteins are expressed in the infected cell. All are critical to support assembly, release and maturation of the virus. Considering each protein has a defined role in the life cycle, therapeutically targeting one or more may be an effective strategy to obtain potent antiviral activity.
