DARPA: Science of Artificial Intelligence and Learning for Open-world Novelty (SAIL-ON)

The SAIL-ON program will research and develop the underlying scientific principles and general engineering techniques and algorithms needed to create AI systems that act appropriately and effectively in novel situations that occur in open worlds. Novelty in this Call arises from violations of implicit or explicit assumptions in an agent’s model of the external world, including other agents, the environment, and their interactions.
