תיאור

Division of Earth Sciences (EAR) in the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) of the NSF is inviting joit proposals for Israeli and American scientists in Earth Sciences .

Sedimentary Geology and Paleobiology supports studies of:

(1) the changing aspects of life, ecology, environments, and biogeography in geologic time based on fossil plants, animals, and microbes;

(2) all aspects of the Earth's sedimentary lithosphere – its insights into the geological processes and rich organic and inorganic resources locked in rock sequences;

(3) the science of dating and measuring the sequence of events and rates of geological processes as manifested in Earth's past sedimentary and biological (fossil) record;

(4) the geologic record of the production, transportation, and deposition of modern and ancient physical and chemical sediments;

(5) understanding Earth's deep-time (pre-Holocene) climate systems.

Funding: $80,000 per year for Israeli partner
Duration: No fixed limit (3-5 years as per NSF decision)

US scientist full proposal due to NSF on 1.2.17
Both partners to submit proposal to BSF on 7.2.17

This program has no official NSF deadline, but applications that will be submitted to the NSF later than Feb. 1, will be processed only starting in late 2017, and awarded a grant in mid-2018.
