CDMRP Neurofibromatosis Research Program: Synergistic Idea Award

The Synergistic Idea Award supports new ideas that represent synergistic approaches to neurofibromatosis research involving two or three Principal Investigators (PIs) working on a single project. Applications are welcome from investigators working in a wide spectrum of disciplines, however, PIs must clearly define the synergistic components that will facilitate and accelerate progress in a way that could not be accomplished through independent efforts.

Areas of Emphasis:

• NF2- and schwannomatosis-related areas (e.g., hearing, balance, schwannoma, ependymoma, meningioma, LZTR1, SMARCB1).
• Endpoint validation, biomarker discovery, and technological innovation for assessments
• Application of data science.
• Non-tumor manifestations
• Heterogeneity of NF-related phenotypes.
• Genetics, genomics, epigenetics, systems biology, metabolomics or similar approaches.
• Preclinical efficacy studies.
• Target identification and drug discovery.
• Nutritional, environmental, and other modifiers of NF.
• Health services research

It is expected that 2 award will be granted.
