CDMRP Arthritis Research Program: Focused Research Award

This award is intended to support conceptually innovative, high-risk/potentially high reward research that could ultimately lead to critical discoveries and/or improvements in patient care or quality of life for people impacted by arthritis.

Research addressing all types of arthritis is encouraged including but not limited to osteoarthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, juvenile arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Level 1:
Exploratory, high-risk/high-reward research. Early stages of idea development..

Funding: $500,000 total 

Duration: 2 years

Level 2: 
Advancement of preclinical research toward clinical translation

Funding: $750,000 total 

Duration: 3 years 

It is expected that four (4) awards will be granted. 2 for each level.
