תיאור | PRCRP will foster the next generation of cancer research by providing new opportunities to successfully pursue high-impact research for the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. The Career Development Award will offer two types of grants: Fellow Option: The PI must be an early-career researcher or physician-scientist (referred to as a Fellow) within 7 years after completion of their terminal degree by the time of the application deadline (excluding time spent in residency, clinical training, or on family medical leave). Resident Option: For clinicians based in hospitals.
Applications must address at least one of the Topic Areas listed below: • Bladder cancer • Blood cancers • Brain cancer • Colorectal cancer • Endometrial cancer • Esophageal cancer • Germ cell cancers • Head and Neck cancer • Liver cancer • Lymphoma • Mesothelioma • Metastatic cancers • Myeloma • Neuroblastoma • Pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancers • Pediatric brain tumors • Stomach cancer • Sarcoma • Thyroid cancer • Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome malignancies (excluding cancers of the kidney and pancreas)
Applications must also address at least one of the FY23 PRCRP Military Relevance Focus Areas: • Environmental/exposure risk factors associated with cancer
Investigators are strongly encouraged to collaborate, integrate, and/or align their research projects with Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) research laboratories and programs.
It is expected that six (6) Fellow awards will be granted.
Funding: Fellow $400,000 total
