The FY25 DMDRP CTRA mechanism supports advanced translational research that will accelerate the movement of promising ideas in DMD research into clinical applications.

To meet the intent of the funding opportunity, all applications for the FY24 DMDRP Clinical/Translational Research Award (CTRA) must address at least one of the following Focus Areas:

Preclinical Translational Research

• Extension or expansion of existing preclinical data in support of Investigational New Drug (IND) application-enabling studies.

 

Clinical Research

• Clinical studies designed to improve care and quality of life

• Prospective real-world data collection for combination or sequential therapies, and/or safety and efficacy studies

• Assessment of clinical trial tools and outcome measures

• Natural history studies in understudied systems

 

The FY25 DMDRP CTRA offers two funding levels 

• Funding Level 1: Funding Level 1 is intended to support smaller, less complex preclinical and/or clinical research. Pilot clinical trials are allowed.

• Funding Level 2: Funding Level 2 is intended to support larger, more complex preclinical and/or clinical research. Pilot clinical trials are allowed.

 

It is expected that five (5) awards will be granted. 

 

 

Funding: Funding level 1: $650,000 total ($750,000 with a partner) ; Funding level 2: $1,250,000 total ($1,350,000 with a partner) .  
Duration: Funding level 1- 3 years; Funding level 2- 4 years
