תיאור

The program has identified the following Focus Areas for funding: 

  • Understanding appropriate wound prophylaxis/empiric treatment strategies throughout continuum of care, regardless of injury status
  • Understanding combat traumatic wound physiology and wound progression through preclinical and clinical studies to inform clinical practice guidelines and standard of care efficacy and gaps.
  • Optimizing prolonged care management of penetrating torso injury by developing solutions for prevention/management of deep space infections (e.g., bacterial or fungal) and delays in care of penetrating abdominal injury.
  • Development of analysis and decision support tools to guide traumatic combat wound care and casualty management to triage, prevent and/or treat infections.

 

It is expected that 7-10 awards will be granted. 

 

 

Funding Level 1: Innovative, high-risk/high-reward research

Funding Level 2: Preclinical and clinical research

 

 

Funding: Funding Level 1: $1,200,000 total; Funding Level 2: $2,200,000 total

Duration: Level 1 3 years; Level 2 4 years 

 

Research Authority due date: 2.10.22

Preproposal due date (required): 20.10.22

Full proposal due date: 16.11.22
