CDMRP Orthotics and Prosthetics Clinical Research Award

The goal of the FY22 OPORP is to provide the high-level evidence required to inform the development of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs), which are based on the comprehensive systematic review of published literature and clinical evidence. 

Applications must address at least one of the Strategic Goals listed below.

• Optimize patient-specific technology prescription for the Warfighter/Veteran.
• Optimize patient-specific rehabilitation regimens for the Warfighter/Veteran.
• Support standardized assessment of patient outcomes related to prosthetics and orthotics.

PIs are encouraged to integrate and/or align their research projects with DoD and/or VA research laboratories and programs.

The program offers funding for different research levels. 
Research Level 1: Pilot research
Research Level 2: Research that is supported by preliminary data towards clinical translation.
 

Funding: Level 1 $350,000 total ; Level 2 $2,000,000 total 
Duration: Level 1- 2 years; Level 2 - 4 years

It is expected that 5 awards will be granted (3 for level 1 and 2 for level 2)
