Exploratory Studies to Investigate the Mechanisms of Interrelationship Between Sleep and Substance Use Disorders (R61/R33) Basic Experimental Studies with Humans Required

The purpose of this grant is to support research project applications that are developmental and exploratory in nature to expand our knowledge on the basic neurobiology of the interrelationship between sleep and substance use disorders (SUDs).  Projects may explore the molecular, cellular, circuit and behavioral interactions between sleep and SUDs.

Funding: R61- $250,000 per year; R33- $500,000 per year 

Duration: R61- 2 years; R33 3 years
