Exploratory Research in Preventing Nuclear and Radiological Terrorism

DNDO is interested in technologies or methodologies that can dramatically improve the national capability to detect and report attempts to import or transport a nuclear device, SNM, or radiological material outside of regulatory control. The technologies and methodologies are divided into three RTAs as follows:

• RTA-01: Mobile Active Interrogation Using Neutrons

• RTA-02: Radiation Isotope Identification Device Based on Thallium Bromide

• RTA-03: Nuclear Detection through Centralized Data Analytics
