Grand Challenges Awards in Cancer Research

Grand Challenge awards are intended to catalyse a revolution in how we prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer by bringing together the brightest minds around the globe, providing the freedom to undertake innovative, game-changing research. Cancer Research UK is seeking applications from interdisciplinary teams with novel, exciting ways of solving one of seven Grand Challenges: 

1. Tissue Specificity
2. Tumor Vaccinology
3. Treatment Regimens
4. Dormancy
5. Lethal vs. Non-Lethal
6. Artificial Intelligence
7. Microbiota
8. Cancer Causes 

Scientists from around the world are welcome to apply. The team should comprise a principal Investigator and up to 7 co-investigators from recognised academic institutions or for-profit companies. Teams should be interdisciplinary and have a patient advocate componant. 

Funding: Seed grant (shortlist stage) £30,000. Final grant £20,000,000

Duration: 5 years
